Ahead Continues Partnership with TGL as Second Season Sets to Start

Headwear, Apparel, Accessories Available for All Six League Teams

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (Dec. 3, 2025) – The second season of TGL presented by SoFi will tee off in late December and Ahead is again serving as a major supplier of headwear, apparel, and accessories for all six teams.

As it did when the tech-forward, innovative golf league launched last year, Ahead is collaborating with TGL to create a dynamic merchandise collection for each of the league’s teams: defending champion Atlanta Drive GC, Boston Common Golf, Jupiter Links GC, Los Angeles Golf Club, New York Golf Club, and The Bay Golf Club.

In addition to featuring a variety of logo ornamentation techniques for each team’s headwear, Ahead will be supplying apparel plus accessories such as pin flags, lapel pin sets, divot tools, and ball markers. TGL team collections are available for purchase now on Ahead’s retail site, https://aheadusashop.com/collections/tgl, where fans can shop and support their favorite teams.

Through Ahead’s partnership with TGL, golf clubs nationwide may customize and co-brand headwear with TGL team logos alongside their own club branding, offering these exclusive items in their shops. Ahead TGL-branded merchandise also is available at select PGA TOUR Superstore locations across the country, Fanatics, and on-site at the league’s home at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Praised in year one for creating a new fan experience highlighted by its fast-paced and engaging format with the world’s best players mic’d-up, the league will make its broadcast network debut when the new season tees off on ABC at 3 p.m. EST on Sunday, Dec. 28. The opener will feature a rematch of last year’s two finalists with Atlanta taking on New York. All subsequent matches will be aired live on ESPN or ESPN2, and streamed on the ESPN app.

PXG’s new drivers, fairways, and hybrids deliver a breakthrough blend of physics, materials science, and fitting innovation

Scottsdale, AZ (Dec. 2, 2025) – PXG® today unveiled its all-new Lightning® Metalwoods family, a new generation of PXG drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids engineered through modal analysis, carbon fiber optimization, and advanced mass-distribution strategies. Designed to produce faster ball speeds, higher moment-of-inertia (MOI), and tighter dispersion, the PXG Lightning line represents the company’s most technically advanced metalwoods platform to date.

The centerpiece is the PXG Lightning Driver, built around a Frequency Tuned Face that PXG developed using vibration-mode analysis more common in aerospace than in golf equipment. Engineers mapped how the face naturally vibrates during impact and tuned its dominant frequency to match the ball’s compression sequence. In simple terms, the face flexes at the right moment, in the right pattern, to deliver more efficient energy transfer. This sequencing produces faster ball speed across a wider portion of the face to deliver more distance and accuracy.

Supporting the system is an overhauled chassis anchored by a Spined Sole Design and an expanded carbon fiber footprint, up to 84 percent larger than the previous generation. This frees mass for more aggressive perimeter weighting, resulting in an exceptionally high MOI in all four driver models – PXG Lightning Tour, PXG Lightning Tour Mid, PXG Lightning Max-10K+, and PXG Lightning Max Lite. Each model uses proprietary Precision Weighting Technology to influence launch, spin, and shot bias with the PXG Max-10K+ pushing MOI to the threshold of USGA conformity.

PXG’s new Laser-Etched Face introduces a precision-engineered micro-texture designed to deliver more consistent spin and control in all playing conditions. The finely patterned etching increases face friction for cleaner launch and tighter dispersion to help maintain spin stability even when moisture is present. Paired with a proprietary face structure that subtly refines curvature to optimize directional performance, the system works together to preserve shot shape, energy transfer, and control across the entire hitting area.

“The first time I put the Lightning Driver in play, the ball speed jump was immediate,” said Christiaan Bezuidenhout, PXG PGA TOUR professional. “What stood out even more was how stable it felt. Even my slight misses held their line. It’s the most consistent driver I’ve had in competition.”

PXG Lightning Fairway Woods build on the driver’s physics-driven design to deliver faster ball speeds, tighter dispersion, and versatile playability from tee or turf. A new thinner, faster face architecture boosts speed across every loft, while loft-specific face shaping supports consistent launch and directional control. Enhanced carbon fiber construction redistributes mass low and to the perimeter for higher launch and improved forgiveness, and PXG’s Precision Weighting Technology allows players to fine-tune shot shape in both the standard and tour head profiles.

PXG Lightning Hybrids extend the family’s speed and stability benefits into a compact, high-launching design built for versatility from any lie. A thinner face delivers faster ball speeds across the hitting area, while progressive face geometry maintains accuracy through the set. A lightweight carbon fiber crown and squared, high-MOI head shape boost forgiveness and consistency, and sole weighting offers precise control for a fully dialed-in fit.

“I love how balanced the PXG Lightning Hybrids feels,” said PXG LPGA Tour professional Céline Boutier. “They launch beautifully, the face reacts exactly how I expect, and the forgiveness helps me stay confident in pressure situations.”

Across the driver, fairway, and hybrid offerings, the PXG Lightning line was engineered with fitting at the center of the product architecture. Mass-adjustability systems, tailored internal structures, and PXG’s adjustable hosel work together to give fitters broad control over launch dynamics, shot shape, and player-specific optimization.

According to Brad Schweigert, PXG Chief Operating Officer, “Frequency tuning, structural reinforcement, and advanced MOI engineering allowed us to create metalwoods that are objectively faster and more stable. The gains are real, measurable, and available across every model.”

“PXG Lightning represents a true leap forward for PXG,” concluded Bob Parsons, PXG Founder & CEO. “Packed with game-changing technology and built to be properly fit, these babies flat-out perform – no matter how you swing the club.”

Rich Beem Trusts Shot Scope Like He Trusted His Caddie on the PGA TOUR

Had he been born a couple of generations earlier, in the black-and-white film era, his peers might have called him a card, a corker, a cut-up, or a character. The 2002 PGA Championship winner’s effortless wit and charisma made him a likable player for his professional playing career that lasted almost 15 years.

One of the most iconic images of the Texan from his playing days is the joyous little jig he danced after holing his final putt to win his only major championship at Hazeltine National – a sort of Energizer Bunny Goes to Mardi Gras kind of motion that endeared him instantly to fans and the media.

Beem’s easy charm and likeability make him a perfect fit for his current profession, providing commentary and analysis of live televised golf tournaments for Sky Sports. He’s one of many who made the effortless transition from playing to broadcasting, and the role seems to come quite naturally to the 55-year-old lifelong golfer.

Rich Beem’s unexpected triumph at the 2002 PGA Championship, where he outdueled Tiger Woods, remains one of the sport’s most memorable upsets. Yet, Beem’s journey — from a car stereo salesman to a major champion, and later, a respected broadcaster and technology ambassador, paints a portrait of resilience, adaptability, and enduring passion for the game.

“Working for Sky Sports as an analyst and commentator, people ask me, ‘are they looking at leaderboards?’ You better,” he says. “That’s why you put in all the hard work, the practice, the hours, trying to hone our skills into this game. You want to see your name on top of that leaderboard. And yes, when I won the PGA, I knew exactly where Tiger Woods stood in relation, but I didn’t get wrapped up in his name. I was having too much fun looking at my name up there.”

As a PGA TOUR player, Beem always had a caddie providing him with yardages. But today, the new Shot Scope brand ambassador trusts the brand’s yardage devices for accurate distances and data on his game, to help him better understand his playing tendencies and maximize his chances to score lower in the little time he has to play.

“To play golf at the highest level, you have to be comfortable with being uncomfortable,” says Beem, who outdueled Tiger Woods to capture the 2002 PGA Championship. “It’s knowing your game, but also more or less knowing what your body is going to do. You have to be spot on and know exactly if you need to hit it 160 or 162 yards. I prided myself on being able to hit it the right distance a lot of times. These days, I can’t remember the last time I played without a Shot Scope watch or laser rangefinder. I can’t remember the last time I played, not knowing exactly how far I had to carry a bunker, how far it was over a bunker to a flag stick. And the more information you have, the easier it is to hit the correct shot.”

By partnering with Shot Scope, Beem has been a respected voice in explaining the value of using advanced tools like GPS watches, laser range finders, and shot tracking systems to help golfers improve their performance. He’s adamant that understanding your game through data is crucial.

“To play your best, day in and day out, you have to rely on the best tools in the game,” he says. “And even though I’m getting a little bit older and the numbers have come down a little bit, at least I’m able to track them on a daily basis, taking my Shot Scope out there and understanding my numbers and exactly how much shorter I’m hitting it. It is a huge help.”

Even though he’s played the game almost all of his life, he’s still learning about how to play the percentages to play and score his best.

“As a tour player, I was aggressive,” he explains. “There wasn’t a single flag stick that I didn’t look at as a sexy thing. I wanted to figure out how to birdie every single hole that I possibly could. Sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn’t. Today, I can take Shot Scope data and definitively know where I should be aiming and what club is the right one in a given situation. That’s extremely valuable for players of any skill level.”
